I don't know if this is the right place to put this, but it seems like a pretty big event to me.

I'm going on a deployment tomorrow!  Yay...

The fine USS Scranton is taking me on a ride through the open seas, and my first experiences outside of the continental United States.

PS:  I hope to see more stories of awesomeness in the games section when I get back.  Oh do I live through your games whilst reading your tales as my role-playing skills atrophy.  You've got 3/4 of a year, ...and go!

I should read my own forum more often; didn't even see that you were deploying until now.

Are you still out at sea or are you back now?  How's life on the Scranton (and what kind of ship is it)?

I'm on the Scranton.  A submarine based in Norfolk, Virginia.  I am currently in Lisbon, Portugal dying of sun poisoning.  I'll be back in the states relatively soon.  Seven months out to sea sucks.

It's been insanely hot and humid here, with heat indexes well over 100... so I have sympathy.
