Ive decided to throw some ideas out there for rules changes and hyborian flavor.
1- From now on all combat will be quick contests instead of the normal hit/miss rules, but if both the attacker and defender succeed in their rolls and the attackers margin is greater, the attacker may roll damage and halve the total.(hopefully this should speed up the extremely long combat sequences).
2- As for healing I am going to allow innovative and creative ways to have characters healed, for example using herbalism and or alchemy to speed up the rate of healing and also in the true fashion of conan a flagon of ale/wine and a night in the arms of some lusty strumpet will do wonders for what ails you.
3- For the gladiators, using skills that interact with the crowd using showmanship and also the more flashy combat maneuvers used can give a numerical bonus in the next round also those who do not meet the crowds approval may get a penalty if they fail a will roll.
